Training and Clinical Experience:
Petrine completed her Bachelor of Social Work at the National University of Singapore and her Master in Counselling at the Edith Cowan University. She is a registered social worker with the Singapore Association of Social Work.
Petrine has experience working with various clients throughout her career in various organisations such as the Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home where she was a Senior Social Worker, and Fei Yue Family Service Centre as a Principal Social Worker and the Head of Department. She is the Master Student Welfare Officer (SWO) with the Ministry of Education (Singapore) overseeing the professional development of over 100 SWOs. Petrine conducted workshops and training sessions such as “Dealing with Grief and Loss” and “Basic Counselling Skills”.
As a practitioner, Petrine has experience supporting individuals and couple clients in their varying issues. She also supports parents as she is familiar with Singapore’s school system and understands the challenges faced by parents and students with school attendance issues.
“This too, shall pass” is a quote that Petrine identifies with during challenging times. It also reminds her that positive circumstances will pass too and thus treasures her loved ones with gratitude.
